The Inside of the Outside of the Box
Thinkers big and small take note. So much time is spent up leveling to think “outside of the box” that the very boundaries and gates that are holding us back begin to stop expanding. Going outside versus staying inside is merely a conversation about comfort versus risk and it is often eclipsed by the very vision of the make-believe existence of a bigger-than-life box that is somehow actually able to hold on to us.
Four key questions appear when we erase the idea of this “box” from our ability to set and get our goals:
What changes if we simply remove the box?
Can we think and act differently if we are not being teased about exiting this pretend structure in the first place?
If we do not need to exit “the box” to think and live anew, then what is possible in this wide-open arena?
If we lead with our hearts from where this “think-out-of-the-box” vision once existed, what wins are we organically experiencing?
The inside of the outside of the box erupts with new energy when we remove this playpen of yesterday and replace it with fresh ideas, new chances, and change leadership. Why? Because when we step away from our vision that a box is holding us back or springing us ahead, we allow for ourselves to lead our decisions and choices from a place of curiosity and opportunity rather than being led by a societal saying that limits next steps. If we remove the ideal of a box existing and replace it with heart-centered intuition, we become limitless. Instead of stepping in or out of something we step forward.
When in a situation that requires expansion and rethinking, choose to erase “the box.” Then calculate and take 3 new steps forward that are gate-free. Evaluate. Dig deep on intuition. If we lead with our hearts what is possible? Rinse and repeat. Then choose again based on successes and new expertise. Becoming intimate with the inside of the outside of the box is becoming intimate with ourselves and trusting our own abilities to guide us.
