Time to Reinvent You!

We are always changing. Even if we resist change and hide behind fear, change grabs us and takes us with it. If we stay the same, everything shifts around us and if we pivot, other things do not.. So what is the secret to reinvention and how can we make it work for us?

Time.

Yep. Once again, it is our relationship to time that most impacts our relationships to the people, places and things in our lives. Time alters our commitments to ourselves. There is no right moment to begin to embrace change. When we wait for the perfect time, we never take action, because the perfect time does not exist. The only time we all have unlimited access to is the real time of the moment we are currently in. Think about how often we relate to others based on who they were yesterday. We assume that they will stay the same, and often respond to them via an inaccurate version of our relationship taken from the scrapbook of our shared past. If we view our relationships from the perspective of only seeing people in the now, we open the door to really knowing one another based on current events rather than past memories. Our ability to see others and ourselves in the light of the day we are in directly impacts our level of contentment and balance We permit our minds and our hearts to capture the essence of our own small shifts and with that we can begin to appreciate the fluidity of the human condition.

Time.

In order to embrace change we need to allow for it. We cannot alter the past. It is done. We cannot predict or pre-live the future. It is an unknown. We can only allow the current day to be our guide. When we are in harmony with balance and perspective, the failures of yesterday or the anticipation of tomorrow does not crush us. Everyday, every moment is a new, fresh chance to begin to practice self-acceptance and to eliminate judgment and assumption. When we accept, we forgive and we begin to see everyone, including ourselves, in a more compassionate and genuine way.

Time.

Time allows us to find the bandwidth to try. Trying allows us to take action. Action allows us to triumph over stress and negative self talk in favor of rewriting our story. This emerging confidence generated by living in the moment, cancels many of the fears that weigh us down. If you could wipe the slate clean at the start of each day, how differently would your day go? Would you make choices that were just for today? Would you try to reinvent yourself to reflect your dreams and ambitions?

Time.

When we think about troubled relationships including our commitments to ourselves, it is often our desire to hold onto what was that holds us back from experiencing what is. We may know that someone else has changed but do not acknowledge that we have renewed ourselves as well. We may think that we have outgrown something without understanding that the very thing we thought we were over and done with is now also somehow different and altered. We may not see our own subtle shifts or we may be scared of what they imply.

Time marches forward and takes us captive with it. Our point of view in regard to time is a choice that can entrap us into procrastination or set us free with abundance and opportunity. Allow for your management of the time in your life to depict the life you most want to lead. Prioritize you. Drill down to what stands in your way or blocks your best use of time. Identify it and understand that it is only a transitory moment in the timeline of your life. Every hour is another chance to begin again and to meet your life and everyone in it exactly where they are. TRY! It is time to reinvent you!
